Conversion Classes

Conversion

Converting to Judaism may seem daunting, but in reality it is a joyous and enriching way to enter into a deep relationship with God. The Talmud calls it “entering into the wings of God’s presence.” Students explore the wisdom of Torah, gradually try out living Jewish practice, and learn about Jewish ethical ideals. Through these explorations, you will discern whether becoming Jewish is the right decision for you, and become comfortable living as a Jew.

Our conversion curriculum helps prospective members of the tribe create a meaningful Jewish life. The focus of our 30-week curriculum is on meaningful spiritual practice, observance, and ethics. Students will also learn about some of the fundamental books, ideas, and denominations of Judaism.

By the end of the class, students will be prepared to participate in Jewish communal life. We will work with your local rabbi to help you meet the requirements for conversion, but ultimately whether or not you convert will be a decision at the end of the learning process.
